Welcome to my 'Smugmug' site. My photographic hobby is primarily oriented toward landscape photography but, of course, I also take numerous travel photos and pictures of the family - especially the grandkids.

After graduating from U.C.S.B. with a degree in geology, I had a long and rewarding career in teaching - physics and geology at the high school level, and geology at De Anza Community College.

My enjoyment of the outdoors leads me to mountains, deserts, and coastal areas, while my interest in photography offers a good excuse for travel and investment in new camera gear!

The section on student trips covers more that 33 years of Grand Canyon, Hawaii, and Mono Lake field experiences for my students at Los Altos H.S. and Mountain View H.S.

The in-progress geology section illustrates classic geologic features and poses related interpretation questions for those who might be interested.
